Saturday Afternoon Walk
What better way to explore a city than on foot and accompanied by an expert guide who knows all the city’s ins and outs and loves to talk about them? There are walks at fixed times. Join an interesting tour through the city on a Saturday afternoon. Starting and end point is the Tourist Information Office at the Grote Markt. The walk starts at 1 pm and takes about 1.5 hours. The Tourist Information Office advises to book beforehand by calling + 31 50 313 97 41, or by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, or stopping by.
City walks for groups
Learning about a city or region means visiting well-known and less familiar, as well as unexpected and surprising spots. With this in mind, the City of Groningen Tourist Information Office team of guides holds guided tours through the city and province. Explore the less familiar, unexpected and surprising spots in the city and its environs; the guides know all kinds of interesting facts. There are city walks as well as tours of the province by bus. Tours are held in Dutch, German, English, French and the Groningen dialect.
If you would like to visit the tower with a group during opening hours, simply buy your tickets at the Tourist Information Office at the Grote Markt. Opening hours:
1 April through 1 November, Monday through Saturday from 11 am - 5 pm.
1 November through 1 April: Monday through Friday from noon - 4 pm and Saturday from 11 am - 5 pm.
In July also on Sunday from 11 am - 4 pm.
The tower is closed on 25, 26 and 31 December 2011.
The ticket sales office closes thirty minutes before the Tower closes (on Sundays 1 hour before closing time). Guided tours are not held during these hours.
