Groningen has diversity and small-scale shops, including numerous design shops with the latest trends and novel accessories. Walk through streets filled with aromatic spices and design businesses, or original gift shops. The Grote Markt and Vismarkt are located in the city centre; almost every day there is a fresh goods market; clothes and antiques are also sold. Shopping in Groningen means tantalising fun.
Fashion and jewellery
All major retail businesses are located in the city, all within walking distance of each other. The Oosterstraat is home to a number of notable shops selling earrings, watches, and hats.
Books, antiques and curiosa
Groningen is a genuine book city: the Oude Kijk in 't Jatstraat has several particular bookstores. The Zuiderdiep is paradise for lovers and collectors of antiques, curiosa, and art. A considerable number of antique shops are located here.
