Mediaeval Ter Apel
In the weekend of 1 and 2 September, the Groningen village of Ter Apel will be the scene of a spectacular and authentic medieval event: Medieval Days in Ter Apel. With the centuries-old monastery in the background, visitors will be taken back hundreds of years in time.
Musicians, craftsmen, mediaeval market stallholders and storytellers will guarantee that there’s never a dull moment for visitors to this two-day event.
Each day, dozens of gunners, archers and swordsmen will re-enact a battle and children will be able to fight real knights or take part in exciting games. You can visit the encampments as well, and there will be demonstrations of mediaeval craftsmanship. In the evenings, there will be a programme around the tavern featuring music, dancing and a breath taking fire show.
